Healthy Kids Colorado Survey - State Survey Effort

The state survey is comprised of two survey versions.  The YRBS which is created by the CDC and a state level version of the HKCS.  Every other year approximately 40 schools are randomly selected by the Centers for Disease Control (CDC).  Funding for this semi-annual effort comes from CDC into the Colorado Department of Education (CDE).

The goal of this effort is to obtain a weighted, representative data set of all Colorado public high school students.  Participation from each of the selected schools is vital to the success of this effort.  The Colorado Departments of Education (CDE), Human Services, Division of Behavioral Health (DBH), and Health and Environment (CDPHE) as well as OMNI Institute work collaboratively with the selected schools to ensure the success of this data collection effort.

The 2009 full report is now available and can be accessed below!

The next data collection effort will be in the fall of 2011.
